Here show you how I made it and you get to see some of the drafts and all that other stuff. First, there was the first draft, to get an idea and refine.
The idea for this is that the light would come out of his eyes, but this was just the starting idea after Ryder (my little buddy) had told me that he liked The Ninja turtles and that Michelangelo was his favorite. I knew this would have been much too complicated and I could do better. So I kept on thinking and one day in the beginning of class it came to me. I had an idea that i quickly scribbled down and later on made into reality.
Where the light would come out for this one is the blank space that isn't being taken up by his body. Once I got approval from Mr. Ted and my little buddy. Mr. Ted told me to get to work on a Napkin Sketch which is a rough sketch of what the whole thing would look like, and so I did.
Now that you can see clearly what I was thinking, the idea is that it would be Michelangelo coming out of a sewer pipe. The light would be generated from inside the "pipe" primarily from the shaded area. The next step was to make a Scale draft of the idea.
Unfortunately I wasn't supposed to put the measurements on it ( a mistake that I learned from Casa de Miedo where I put measurements on it and it turned out to be wrong and we went off the entire project assuming it was right, but then we ran up short on some stuff) so I did it again, but better.
Then I was ready for the next step. To actually start building it. Unfortunately I wasn't done with designs. I had to design the "Sewer Pipe" on a computer program that transfer that design to A 3-D PRINTER (cool right) Here are some of the designs.
It turns out that the size of the pipe was too big to be printed in the 3-D printer so I had to make two.
I bet now you're wondering Why is there a little thing sticking out? Turns out that that was a mistake and the whole project was ruined. Just kidding, it was to put it into the slot that was made in the box. Why is there a slot in the box? Well, stop asking so many questions!
