The first week... This week we did many interesting things like: Getting in pairs and jumping and trying to get as many high-fives as we could, making a Gesture as we say our name in a circle, and reading chapters of a book aloud to the class while making relevant sounds made by things we found in the class. But the most interesting thing we did was, put what home sounds like, what home taste like, what home smells like, what home looks like, and what home feels like. Getting in groups then trying to make a poem by rearranging them. Now, of course this isn't a conventional school that teaches in non conventional ways, but this one made me really think as to why we did it. Until I read the "What we did and why we did it" doc., but even then, why we would need those skills is a little blurry.
And some advice for Dr.P to help me excel in humanities this year would be, to be as clear as possible with what you're trying to tell me and be (for lack of a very better word) nice, if I ask for help I tend to have trouble doing that.
What do you want to get better at in humanities this year? Uhh... Be more comfortable with talking about my past, I guess. I think I'm pretty well rounded otherwise. And asking for help, that too.

Week two... This week, like the last we did many interesting things, however there were some that were familiar, like: the Socratic-seminar that we did and filling out the survey. In my 9th grade class in humanities we did a lot of Socratic-seminars, which gives me the feeling that we will probably be doing a lot this time around too. And of course I've filled out surveys before from my teachers. Those and always starting with a light activity as a warm-up. It's hard to say what extended or pushed me into thinking in new directions this week, even when we would do something wired like sculpt classmates bodies into what we saw in a scene, I just thought it was a warm-up and thought nothing more of it. I get it now though. And I'm not confused about anything that we did this week or still being challenged by, I pretty much go it all.

Week three...This week was all about the "Portrait" poems. that's what we did more than anything anyway. Coming from a regular school where we don't normally, do poems, I had really no idea how to make one, if there are any rules, or any tricks to make them better. All I got was a "guide" from my teacher that was a exact copy of his that just left out all the parts that made the poem specific. But I guess I had seen and read enough poems to know how they generally so post to sound, so I went for it. Then just now I realize that our poems were and are so post to have sensory details, (because that is the heart of all writing). Which I guess is true and makes sense, but if only I knew that sooner. I had already written my poem and thought it was good so I came attached to it( in that way, you know) to change it would have changed the feel of that particular poem and so to add sensory detail would be to make a new poem, and thinking of that made me hurt. So I do agree that sensory detail makes writing so much better, and do want that in my next piece of whatever it is.
We Did "interviews" with our partner about their life, basically, and I learned that asking clarifying questions about what they say is very important, better than sitting in silence for 15 minutes.
For revision it was very blurry when we "revised", It seem to me that we had to make a poem, then we got time to work on it in class if we wanted to. So for me with revising, I'll set goals when I do it to know what I'm trying to accomplish and not just staring at it.

Week seven...This week we started a project where we will be interviewing someone, recording it, and other things that I don't know yet. We watched and (were supposed to) do interviews in class, and some parts that stuck into my mind was: When one guy's brother went into a library where he wasn't allowed (the color of his skin) and he tried to check out some books and the librarian said no, and that she would call the police if he didn't leave, so he sat down and said,"I'll wait". And a part of a story where they were trying to change a student's name (Facundo), but that would just leave him with the name Fac and that wouldn't be good. I think I remember these because the first one was moving and the second one was funny. As for the ones that we did in class, some were joking, like they didn't take it quite seriously. Those were the ones I attended, I did hear some good ones in the back ground, but I was preoccupied with the interviews in front of me.
I plan on interviewing Mr. Craig, because he's a pretty cool guy and I would like to know more about him.

Week eight...This week we did a lot of things to help us with our interviews, and I'd have to say that one of the most helpful thing that would help me in my interview was the Pre-interview packet, it would totally help a lot, since I knew some few things about my interviewee already, knowing even more about them can help me ask more in depth questions that would lead to bigger and possibly more interesting stories. I could do use what i’m learning about interviewing (like how to research topics that relate to whatever I’m trying to do) when I’m trying to get a job I could do some research to find out more about the company or the person interviewing me. In this project I will be going out and asking people (or one person I’m not quite sure yet) a story and recreating it as them (the interviewee), which is definitely different than what I’ve done in the past. (Like I would try to do every project), I will try my hardest to get it done as best I can. I can’t say for certain what I will do because the project where I would do such hasn't presented itself yet, but I’d like to say that I would do all that I can if I can.
